[hindi_jokes] Shame on teachers.....

Shame on teachers.....

The incident in Kadiri where a lady invigilator frisked a 15-year-old boy, Venkataprasad, stripped him, and then made him write the exam naked, because she suspected he was cheating, should make the teaching fraternity bow their heads in shame.

How long can this go on? Almost every second day there are reports of students being either beaten or humiliated by their teachers. Whenever the authorites are questioned as to what the follow up action is, the standard reply is "an enquiry has been ordered." And it ends right there.

Education Minister N. Rajyalakshmi was incommunicado. She was at home but even after eight calls on Sunday, her staff says, "madam is resting."

Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy immediately responded, saying, "This is just not correct. I have ordered an enquiry, action will be taken within 24 hours." Soon after the CM intervened, School Education Director S. Balasubramanyam said, "The invigilator Satyavati has been suspended. Action will be taken after an enquiry."

Reactions

N. ChandraBabu naidu, Ex CM
I will write a letter to NHRC chairman to take up this case as human rights violation. This incident is barbaric and sadistic. Action must be taken.

P. Krishnaiah, IAS, School Education department Secretary
Teachers, looked upon as role models, cannot resort to such acts. Asking a 14/15-year-old to remove clothes in front of others is something which cannot be supported from any angle. The concerned DEO has responded. Such incidents must be condemned.

Justice B. Subhashan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission Chairman:

It's a gross violation of human rights. If the invigilator has any suspicion, the student can be taken into a separate room and searched. Asking a student to remove clothes is not on.

The Commission will take up the case suo moto and issue notices on the invigilator, the school, District Educational Officer and all others concerned.

K. Hari Kishore Students Federation of India State Secretary :

Teachers should try to correct mistakes of students. On the contrary, teachers are hurting them.  Removing clothes of a student  cannot be pardoned. Stringent action should be taken against the teacher.

A Vemaiah, AISF State Secretary:

An enquiry should be conducted and action should be taken against the guilty teacher. Recently a nursing student committed suicide unable to bear ragging. It is the teachers who should come to the rescue of students when in trouble. If teachers start behaving like this, students develop suicidal tendencies.

N Raghuveera Reddy, Agriculture and Civil Supplies Minister:

Making the student write the exam without clothes is an inhuman act. I condemn this vehemently. Such uncivilised acts in schools makes every one of us bow our heads in shame.

A. Venkatrami Reddy, MP, Anantapur:

The responsible teacher should be immediately relieved from duty and severe action should be taken against her.
