Main jis kii khoj mein khud kho gya thaa mele mein,

Kahin vo mera hii ehasaas to kam_bakht na tha,

Jo zulm seh ke bhi chup rah gya na khaul utha,

Vo aur kuchh ho magar aadmi kaa rakt na tha,

Unhi faqiiron ne itihaas banaya hai yahaan,

Jin pe itihaas ko likhne ke liye waqt na tha,

Hamaare shehar mein neeraj-saa koyi mast na tha,
