My dear friends I choose to write this topic in hopes it would touch and capture an image that I have long held in my mind. I ask for your ears and eyes to take in my words as if your tongue had birthed such meanings and sayings.
It is said that the "Tongue is a two edged Sword", well if that is the case, then a lie is mightier than a nuclear weapon. A lie seems like such a small thing, but yet has the power to conquer, divide, render helpless and destroy. I can't think of any man made weapon more powerful than a lie or even one having more ability to totally destroy than a lie.
I have seen huge men fall, rendered to helpless, and sniveling babies as the result of a lie. I have seen grown, self-assured women reduced to total incompetents as they lay wasted in a trail of lies. I have seen the most power of love, destroyed beyond repair by lies... Lies can create deep, embedded scars that will never heal.
I use to be the most trusting individual you would ever come across. I trusted everything I was told. You may think that makes me a fool or perhaps someone living in a fairy tale world, but I didn't want to live in a world where I couldn't trust in people. It was very important to me, but through' hard lessons learned, I am known like most and am doubtful and very untrusting. Maybe that makes me a smarter person, but I am now skeptical of all I hear and believe me, that take a lot of meaning away from living life. When you have to go through each and everyday wondering and doubting a lot of what you see and all that you hear.
Lies make you resentful and it eats at you worse than any form of cancer ever could. Imagine what would happen if lies could be bottled and used as germ warfare.
Some say there are good lies. You know the ones called little white lies, but where is the line drawn? Does calling a lie white, make it better, any less important, any less destructive? Does God see lies in black and white? I don't think so. Even God states that He hates a liar. So before you speak, think long and hard about what you're going to say and what possible harm it could cause someone for a lifetime.
