Godfather of Soul James Brown Dead at 73

(Atlanta) - The "Godfather of Soul" is dead.
James Brown was 73 when he died of heart failure early Christmas morning around 1:45 a.m. in an Atlanta hospital.
His agent says he'd been at an Atlanta hospital since yetserday, suffering from pneumonia.
Brown was planning to perform next Sunday New Year's Eve at a New York City club. And just three days ago, Brown was at his annual toy giveaway in Augusta, Georgia.
His longtime friend, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, says by dying on Christmas Day, Brown was "dramatic to the end."
Jackson says Brown will be "news all over the world today" adding that he "would have it no other way."
The self-described "hardest working man in show business" had a long string of hits, including "I Got You" and "Out of Sight."
